Wood in Return to Moria is a more valuable resource than in most other survival games. With each new location, the tier of loot that can be found increases. And, once players get access to a better tier of metal or ore, they also need better wood to craft items. Ubasam Wood is the one that can be found in the late game, and it can be used to craft the First Age Pickaxe. It is spawned very deep in the Crystal Descent, and it will take fans a long time to get down. Therefore, here, players will learn how to find Ubasam Wood in LotR: Return To Moria.
How To Get Ubasam Wood in Return to Moria
As mentioned above, to find Ubasam Wood, players need to get to the Lower Deeps. For this, they first need to repair the Mine Hoist in the Crystal Descent and then go down about 100 fathoms. To rebuild the Mine Hoist, players have to get 10 Elven Wood and 15 Black Diamonds. After that, they can go down the ladder to start their journey to the Lower Deeps.
Most likely, the first thing players will encounter is a large number of Cave Spiders. But they are not that difficult to deal with, and players can loot Natural Fiber from them. This material is necessary to create a Rope Ladder that is required to climb down.
After going down to a depth of about 300 fathoms, players will find small bluish mushrooms, and from them Ubasam Wood can be looted. Players will also unlock the Loom recipe, which will allow them to make the cloth needed to create armor and weapons. Moreover, Ubasam Wood is the material needed to create the First Age Pickaxe, which is better than the steel one. To craft it, players will have to build a Gem Cutter. This requires the materials described below:
- 3 Steel Ingots
- 10 Stones
- 10 Ubasam Wood
Once players have placed the Gem Cutter, they will be able to craft the First Age Pickaxe using the following materials:
- 3 Steel Ingots
- 1 Black Diamonds
- 4 Ubasam Wood
If players need more Ubasam Wood, they have to go down even deeper. There they will find the same mushrooms but several times taller than the dwarf. By destroying them, fans will get much more Ubasam Wood.
Lord of the Rings: Return To Moria is available on PC. The PS5 version launches on December 5. The Xbox Series X and S version is coming in early 2024.
