Resident Evil Village: Winters’ Expansion

Like many games in the Resident Evil franchise, Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose calls on players to find a number of key items that will help them unlock doors to obtain loot and progress further in the game. One eye-catching door found in Shadows of Rose features a single red eye and blocks the path to the Silver Mask.

This guide will show players how to obtain the RW-Variant Flask 2 and the Monocular Key in Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose to unlock the Monocular Door i n the Castle Dimitrescu Courtyard, and grab the Compensator upgrade for the LEMI pistol in the Salon.

Where To Find The RW-Variant Flask 2

After obtaining the Bronze Mask from the Courtyard, head back to the Main Hall and clear the gooey core blocking the stairs. At the top of the steps, just outside the Gallery door, is a map on the floor showing the location of the Monocular Key in the Dressing Room.

From here, take a right and follow the landing around to a blocked door. Look up to the ceiling a use Rose’s power to get rid of another core.

At this point, Resident Evil's most mysterious merchant will threaten Rose and a pool of mould will appear, chasing the player through the door where Michael will light the way into the Drawing Room. In here, crouch through the fireplace and head upstairs to the Armory.

In the Armory, the player can pick up the RW-Variant Flask 2 from a table. This upgrade allows Rose to use her power to slow down enemy movement for a limited time, making it extremely useful for landing headshots.

At this point, a Husk will appear from where Rose entered the Armory, giving the player a chance to try out their new powers. Back in the Drawing Room, Michael will give Rose a Sprig of Winter Sage that can be used to restore charges to her power.

Where To Find The Monocular Key

After picking up the Sprig of Winter Sage, the door to the hallway Rose was previously chased down will unlock. Inside are a number of soul-sucking Husks that players can now blast with Rose's power to render them useless for a few moments. Use this opportunity to run past them to the right, taking a left into the Drawing Room.

In here are more Husks guarding the Monocular Key on a console table. Players likely won’t have enough ammo to dispatch all the Husks, so use Rose’s extraordinary power again to get past them and pick up the key.

The Monocular Key can be used on the briefcase in the Salon near the Main Hall's Antechamber, which contains the Compensator upgrade for the LEMI pistol. It is also used on the Courtyard door to gain access to the Silver Mask.
