Exploring House Beneviento might seem like a safe endeavour. However, once you meet Angie in the basement and spawn in darkness without your weapons and items, you'll soon realise that you're in for a terrifying experience.

Escaping House Beneviento requires you to complete the Doll Workshop puzzle in Resident Evil Village, and we've listed every step to guide you along the way so you can avoid death, escape with your life, and make short work of the terrors ahead.

The Foyer area in Resident Evil Village can be frustrating when going for full exploration, so this guide shows where the secrets are.

Step 1: Acquire the Silver Key, Blood Covered Ring, and Winding Key

When you find yourself in the Doll Workshop, you'll notice the Mia doll lying flat on the table. There are a few items you're going to need to pry from the doll, but to begin, we'll focus on the simplest essentials for the first steps:

  • Silver Key: Interact with Mia's right arm and raise your hand up to her shoulder to remove it and find the Silver Key.
  • Blood Covered Ring: Interact with Mia's left hand and slide the Blood Covered Ring off of her finger.
  • Winding Key: Interact with Mia's left leg to pull it off and reveal the Winding Key from within the stump.

Step 2: Clean the Blood Covered Ring to Escape the Doll Workshop

Now that you've acquired both the Silver Key and the Blood Covered Ring, it's time to make your first move toward progress. With the Silver Key, interact with the door in the eastern part of the Doll Workshop to open the Medicine Room.

From inside, turn on the sink and interact with it again to wash the Blood Covered Ring to clean it into the Wedding Ring. Upon inspecting the Wedding Ring, you will find the inside has the following numbers: 05-29-11. This is the combination you need to exit the Doll Workshop's main doors.

Step 3: Solve the Music Box Puzzle to Get the Tweezers

With the main doors now open, travel through the corridor and enter the Storage Room. Inside, you'll find a wedding music box. You can interact with the music box to place the Winding Key inside. To solve the music box puzzle, you must line up each cylinder with its connecting scratches.

To save you time, the image above can be used as a reference. Once you're ready, play the music box, and if done correctly, you will obtain the Tweezers. Return to the Doll Workshop and interact with the doll's mouth, where you can use the Tweezers to get the Film item.

Step 4: Complete the Film Projector Puzzle to Get the Scissors

With the Film acquired from the doll's mouth, continue through the corridor until you reach the Study. Inside, you'll find 4 Film strips, and you can place the 5th one to begin the puzzle. The objective is to make the film strips match the order on the Our Happy Family note, which is the following:

  • 1: Monkey toy (Rose's best friend)
  • 2: Village Shadows book (fairytale)
  • 3: Baby Rose (most important thing in the world)
  • 4: Music box (gift from grandma)
  • 5: Wedding ring (everlasting love)

Once you hit play on the correct order, and after the video plays, the projector screen will drop and reveal a hidden passage in the bookshelves. Venture through the new room in the wall and pick up the Scissors found in a doll's hand, and use them to cut open the bandages blocking the way out, and return to the Doll Workshop.

Step 5: Open the Door with 3 Symbols to Get the Breaker Box Key

Now that you're back in the Doll Workshop, you can use the Scissors on the doll's bandaged chest to get the Brass Medallion item. You will also need the other two symbols for the locked door in the northwest of the Doll Workshop. These are found by interacting with the doll's eye and her right hand. The door code is as follows:

  • Left symbol: Bird facing east within a triangle
  • Right symbol: Brass Medallion
  • Bottom symbol: Three shut eyes

Head down the long corridor to reach the Old Well, and climb the ladder down to get the Breaker Box Key. With the Breaker Box Key, head back to the Doll Workshop and go through the long corridor, where the room opposite the Study has the Breaker Box that contains the Relief of a Child item.

At this point, you'll have encountered the terrifying giant baby. If it touches you, then you're dead, so actively avoid it by going different routes from it.

Step 6: Open the Mother Door and Get the Fuse

In the southeast area of the Doll Workshop, past the Medicine Room, you can find a door with a statuette of a mother. You can now interact with the door to place the missing Relief of a Child piece, which unlocks the door. Quickly head downstairs through the Kitchen to reach the Bedroom, where in the corner, you'll find the Fuse.

When you head back up the stairs, the giant baby will appear, so be prepared to run back down to the Bedroom where you can hide from it under the bed. Once the baby is facing away from you, run out from under the bed and head upstairs back into the Doll Workshop.

Step 7: Place the Fuse into the Breaker Box and Escape

Once you're upstairs with the Fuse, you'll need to enter through the hallway and reach the Breaker Box where you initially picked up the Relief of a Child item. You can now place the Fuse into the Breaker Box and call the elevator, but this won't be instant. You'll have to survive a minute or two before the elevator arrives.

To do so, we recommend running into the Study and using the obstacles, like the table, to keep distance from the giant baby. After a minute or two, dart back into the room with the elevator and enter. As soon as you press the button to go up in the elevator, the baby can't hurt you, and you're freed from the nightmare this abomination provides.

The next part involves a hide-and-seek boss fight with Angie, but don't worry about the giant baby, as you will never be able to go back down into the elevator to see it again. Not that you'd want to!
