After finally gaining access to Town Hall, west of the Village Square, players will find the Merchant next to a typewriter save station. And like the other Merchant stations, Resident Evil 4 remake players will find a blue request note called Viper Hunter.
The sidequest requires Leon to go around and find three Vipers to then sell to the Merchant. Apparently, the Vipers are tasty, as the person who wants the request done desires to feed the snakes to someone they know who is about to pass away. Regardless, completing the quest will reward players with four Spinels, which can be used to trade for special items at the shop. Let's go over all three Viper locations in the Resident Evil 4 remake.
Resident Evil 4 Remake: Viper Hunter Request Guide
First Viper
The first viper for this request is very easy to find, as it's hanging out on the ground just steps away from the Merchant in the Town Hall. Simply walk near the entrance and look down.
Second Viper
Once players head on the path south of the Church toward the Quarry during the 'Cross the Lake' objective, they will have to cross several wooden and rickety planks suspended in the air.
Eventually, players will pass a small shack to the left of a red explosive barrel. Break the box inside to find a hiding viper. Shoot it or slash it with a knife to take care of it. Make sure you have space in your inventory before collecting this viper and the other two.
Viper 3
As part of the main storyline, Resident Evil 4 players will eventually wind up in a named location called the Fish Farm, as they'll need to collect fuel to power up the boat to cross the lake in Chapter 3.
We found a viper swimming around the water in this area, but we also found one slithering on the wooden docks, marked in red in the image below.
Head back to any of the Merchant spots to sell the vipers. Players can use the Spinels to trade for neat items, like the low-recoil Punisher handgun or a Yellow Herb that can increase health permanently when crafted with other herbs.
