Resident Evil 4 remake follows Agent Leon S. Kennedy on his mission to locate and rescue the president's daughter from a small village in Spain. Upon arriving at his destination, Leon becomes separated from his search party and is attacked by the townsfolk. Players won't have much to defend themselves with at this point of the game, but they can unlock some useful equipment while progressing the story.
While exploring the world of Resident Evil 4 remake, players will happen upon a variety of useful items that can help in combat. The Body Armor is arguably one of the best, especially if the player gets it early and repairs it whenever they get the chance.
What Does Body Armor Do?
When equipped, the Body Armor in Resident Evil 4 remake nullifies explosive and gunfire damage until its durability runs out. It also lessens the damage Leon will take from incoming melee damage, so players who find themselves getting hit regularly should probably acquire it as soon as they can.
How to Get Body Armor in Resident Evil 4 Remake
At the beginning of Chapter 8, just after getting separated from Ashley, Leon will be able to find the Merchant before delving deeper into the Castle. While progressing the story, the Merchant can sometimes get new stock, so players should always browse his wares whenever they come into contact with him if they're in the market for something new.
The Merchant's Stall in Chapter 8 is the first location in Resident Evil 4 remake where the player can purchase the Body Armor. It costs a hefty 18,000 Pesetas to buy, so players may not want to purchase it upon first seeing it for sale. If so, it can also be bought from the Merchant later on, but the sooner it is purchased, the better.
How to Repair Body Armor in Resident Evil 4 Remake
The biggest downside of the Body Armor is that it will break if it takes too many hits. If this happens, Leon must interact with the Merchant and select the 'Tune-Up' option. There, they will be able to enhance the gear obtained thus far and also repair breakable items like Knives and Body Armor.
Fully repairing Body Armor costs 9,500 Pesetas, and though this might sound expensive, it's worth the price considering how helpful it can be. If players are struggling to amass the money required to buy the Body Armor, they should check Leon's inventory to see if he has any treasures to sell.
When equipped, the Body Armor's durability will be visible in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen. If Leon takes damage while wearing it, a section of the Body Armor symbol will become red, implying that it has lost durability. When all durability is lost, the Body Armor will stop protecting Leon from damage and must be repaired.
Resident Evil 4 remake is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
