Leon will begin this chapter in the Master Bedroom of the Village Chief’s Manor. As Leon and Hunnigan converse, head back onto the landing, down the stairs, and into the dining room. Exit out the front door and use the newly acquired Insignia Key on the gate straight ahead. Following the cavern path eventually leads Leon to a gate opening into the Village Square.

Approaching the chapel in the Village Square will trigger an explosion, causing the nearby tower to collapse and block Leon’s path. From the rubble, four Black Wolves will appear to attack Leon.

Dispatch them and shoot the lock off the door to the right of the collapsed tower, disarming the tripwire directly inside. In the adjacent room is a Ganado that must be dealt with; after doing so, vault through the window to the left and deal with the two remaining Ganados in the area before using the Insignia Key on the chapel door.

Walk through the chapel and exit a door to the right to find the Merchant and a typewriter. Finishing up trading, follow the path around to the right leading to the Church graveyard.

Church

In the graveyard can be found a single Ganado tending a grave; take the path upwards to the church and open the gate before it. This will lead Leon to discover that the church requires an Emblem to unlock it, triggering a conversation with Hunnigan. Head around the right of the church and enter the first door on the left. Inside is a typewriter and a hatch on the floor. Go down the hatch and through the catacombs, exiting out to a quarry cliffside path.

Travel down the path until a fight breaks out with some Ganados. After fighting them off, climb up the nearby ladder, but watch out for the villager throwing Molotov cocktails once Leon reaches the top.

Next, head to the end of the elevated platform and drop down the ladder to the right, where another gang of Ganados will attack.

Upon defeating them, head into the mineshaft and take a left, disabling the tripwire ahead. From here, take a right and follow the path out of the shaft.

Continuing forward, Leon will pass a ginormous hammer and enter a large, arena-like area where two Black Wolves lie slumbering; take them out and keep moving forwards through the large gate to the right.

Follow the linear path past a Wayshrine and back into some caverns where Leon can find a typewriter, a Merchant stand, and the Shooting Range. Take the stairs opposite the Merchant and walk through the double doors out onto a cliff. Walking left, jump down a ladder and onto a dock.

Before Leon can traverse the Lake, however, he needs to fuel up the boat. To do so, keep heading left and into the cavern by the lit torch; on the other side of this cave is the Fish Farm.

Fish Farm

At the Fish Farm, start heading left until the boardwalk below Leon breaks, and he falls into the water. Heading around the wooden barricade to the left, another Cowhead Ganado will appear. To deal with him efficiently, wait for him to turn around, at which point Leon can sneak behind him and deal massive damage with a stealth attack. If stealth isn’t an option, make use of the Fish Farm’s space to loop the many enemies in this area, maintaining distance while hitting him with strong ammo and grenades.

In this area, plenty of Ganados will attack Leon, including some Archer Ganados using crossbows from a vantage point. After taking them out, head down into the water at the center of the farm and go up the ramp to the right.

Follow the walkway, disarming the tripwire along the way before dropping down to the left. Head right towards the hut beneath the torchlit tower, shooting the lock off the door to enter. Inside on a table, players can acquire the boat fuel and make their way to the docks.

To get back, walk outside and take the ladder up to the right; up here is a tripwire and a Ganado, while another group awaits Leon after he jumps down at the end of the platform. Back where Leon first entered the Fish Farm, take the ladder at the end of the walkway back to the docks.

Beating Del Lago

At the docks, head down the ladder and use the fuel on the boat to trigger a cutscene where the fearsome lake-dweller, Del Lago, will attack Leon. After the cutscene ends, Leon is forced to fight the monster, throwing harpoons as it pulls him along.

Continue to lob spears at the creature until it submerges, making sure to lead shots to land a hit. If Del Lago tries to lead the boat into an obstacle, use the directional controls to dodge them and avoid damage.

Occasionally, Del Lago will sink beneath the water and reemerge some distance away; to track the beast, rotate the camera and listen out for the direction its screams come from. As the monster rushes towards the boat, throw a harpoon into its gaping maw to interrupt the attack.

With enough spears, the creature should fall, leading to another cutscene and a chapter end screen.
