Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC by Gunfire Games takes travelers back to the sci-fi world of N'Erud, a dangerous landscape constructed by the Drzyr. This time, N'Erud's barren wastelands have become alien farmlands with even more robots that want to kill you and a sinister rogue AI presence. Described as the game's biggest DLC yet, you might be eager to learn how to start The Dark Horizon DLC in Remnant 2 as a Soulslike game where there are usually one or two progression requirements.

If you've played Remnant 2' s previous DLCs, you might already have a hunch about how to kick things off. Each DLC has its progression requirements, so there are a few steps to follow if you're keen to fly right into The Dark Horizon's action as quickly as you might say glider.

How To Start The Dark Horizon DLC In Remnant 2

Starting Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC in Adventure Mode

To start Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon DLC in the world of N'Erud, you must have completed N'Erud at least once during the game's campaign and unlock Remnant 2' s Adventure Mode. Players can only re-roll worlds they've already finished in the main campaign, making it crucial to complete N'Erud at least once. Providing you've done these two things, which is effectively a two-in-one task, you can then follow the below steps to access The Dark Horizon DLC, as listed and pictured below:

  • Travel to Ward 13 using a World Stone, and use the World Stone again to select World Settings, followed by Adventure Mode.
  • If you already have an Adventure Mode active, click 'Re-roll Adventure Mode' and scroll right to the right through the world options to choose the 'One Shot' Adventure option for The Dark Horizon. If you don't have an active Adventure Mode, you can select the 'Create a New Adventure Mode' option to start a new one.
  • Choose your preferred Remnant 2 difficulty (Survivor, Veteran, Nightmare, or Apocalypse). Select the world of N'Erud to fast-travel to the map starting point called Devoid Quietus, which launches The Dark Horizon DLC. Naturally, it's a brand-new location to explore that typically begins in the Agronomy Sector.

Alternatively, you could start The Dark Horizon DLC by choosing the world of N'Erud instead of scrolling to One Shot Adventure. However, this option means you might not see everything, so it's best to pick One Shot when first starting The Dark Horizon.

Choosing One Shot is the best chance of all the new DLC content in Remnant 2's The Dark Horizon in a single playthrough. However, you can only create this option once, and if re-loaded, its contents become randomized.

What Is Boss Rush Mode In Remnant 2?

Remnant 2 Boss Rush Mode

When booting up Adventure Mode, you'll probably spot a new menu option called Boss Rush Mode. It is a brand-new type of challenge mode where players come up against a random selection of different numbers of Remnant 2 bosses, depending on your chosen difficulty for this mode, as follows:

  • Triple Threat - three bosses.
  • Trial By Fire - seven bosses.
  • The Gauntlet - a whopping 19 bosses.

Boss Rush Mode is also freely available to all players as part of the main game update and separate from the DLC. Of course, The Dark Horizon DLC also introduces players to Remnant 2's Warden Archetype, which has a support drone buddy, giving you even more ways to experience N'Erud and beyond.
