Updated September 28, 2024 by Vlad Mazanko: With the release of The Dark Horizon, the final DLC for Remnant 2, along with major balance updates, it's time to re-evaluate the best long guns in the game, including those introduced in the post-launch content.
With each new DLC, Gunfire Games has introduced several powerful long guns that can be invaluable in the right hands or character builds. Though often challenging to obtain, the long guns from The Awakened King, The Forgotten Kingdom, and The Dark Horizon are among the most powerful weapons available to players. It's worth noting that this list doesn't include special "Corrupted" versions of the usual weapons that can be crafted with collected Corrupted Shards via Dwell at Ward 13.

If simple and versatile were a weapon, it would be the Huntsman M1 rifle. With an ideal range of twenty-seven meters, the M1 is a strong and dependable choice that can dish out a base of seventy damage without any modifications.
This weapon is also equipped with a high-zoom scope that is great for any player who wants to remain unseen while taking down enemies from a safe vantage point. The Huntsman M1 can be purchased from Brabus in Ward 13 or by beginning the game as a Hunter class.

In Remnant 2, the Widowmaker is the bigger brother of the M1 rifle and excels in different areas. The ideal range of the Widowmaker is only thirty-five meters, making it much less useful for a sniper style of play.
Still, it has nearly double the damage per shot of the M1, making it suitable for engaging multiple enemies at a time. The Widowmaker retains the rustic Western aesthetic and is a true nail driver that can make a real difference in a pinch. Players can obtain this deadly rifle from Brabus in Ward 13.

The Chicago Typewriter is one of multiple classic weapons returning from the original Remnant from the Ashes game. Modeled after the symbolic Tommy Gun, the Typewriter is a high-rate-of-fire assault rifle that can pellet enemies with consistent damage and mow them down with ease with an ideal range of seventeen meters.
Remnant 2: Best Hand Guns, Ranked
With around 25+ Hand Guns to choose from in Remnant 2, a lot of players don't know which one really packs the most punch, figuratively and literally.
The ammo drum also aids players in prolonged combat, having a base size of eighty rounds and eleven rounds per second fire rate. Players can obtain the Chicago Typewriter by obtaining the Biome Portal Key and discovering Leto's Stash at Ward 13.

The Monolith is a formidable boss weapon, capable of firing a hyper-accurate beam without an overheat mechanic. Sustained fire from the Monolith applies Exposed status effects to targets, increasing the damage they take. Its built-in Sandstorm mod is the real cherry on top, launching a swirling storm of sand that deals elemental damage within range and proves highly effective against crowds of enemies. In recent updates, the Monolith has been slightly nerfed, and while still potent, is no longer as strong as it used to be.
The Monolith is one of the new long guns introduced in The Forgotten Kingdom DLC, and obtaining it is relatively straightforward. Players can craft this gun in Ward 13 after defeating the Lydusa boss and bringing its Eye to McCabe.

The Monorail is another long gun exclusive to The Dark Horizon DLC, obtainable after defeating the final boss, Alepsis-Taura, under specific conditions. This relic weapon fires super-dense penetrating rails, which can be charged to unleash devastating energy shots for maximum damage. While immensely powerful, the Monorail has a significant drawback: overcharging the weapon can instantly kill the player, making it a risky choice for many. Some fans speculate that this mechanic may be linked to an undiscovered secret in Remnant 2. The Monorail also comes equipped with the unique Recoil Dampener mod, which stabilizes the weapon for 20 seconds by increasing charge speed by 25%, reducing recoil and sway by 75%, and boosting critical hit chance and critical damage.
To craft the Monorail at McCabe in Ward 13, players need to obtain the Eternity Chamber material, which only drops from Alepsis-Taura if they haven't destroyed two of his fragments to weaken him before the fight.

The Thorn unleashes slender needles that pierce their target before triggering a ghastly explosion, applying the Corrode effect. For those seeking to maximize the Thorn's potential, be sure to pair it with the Detonation Trigger amulet and Amplitude character trait for much larger explosions, capable of eliminating many smaller enemies before players even notice them. It's excellent for crowd control.
Remnant 2: The Best Archetypes For Solo Players, Ranked
While Remnant 2 is optimized for co-op play, it's still a great title for solo gamers. Here is how the game's Archetypes rank for independent players.
The Thorn is exclusively available in The Forgotten Kingdom DLC and could be easily overlooked. The trick here is to refrain from collecting the Kuri Kuri egg in the Ancient Canopy. Instead, wait until the storyline has been completed and return to obtain the Spiny Sac, which can then be used at McCabe to craft this powerful weapon.

The Merciless rifle is a great tool that combines accuracy and lethality, which is great for tearing down tanky enemies or complex challenges with sheer damage and damage over time, along with a devastating line attack that turns most enemies into Swiss cheese.
The Merciless has a great fire rate and magazine size but shines due to its bleed damage that can drain enemy health bars in no time flat. Players can obtain the Merciless rifle by crafting it at McCabe's Store after acquiring the Crimson Membrane. To obtain this unique material, players need to allow the Ravager in Yaesha to feed on the Doe partway through the boss battle, and then defeat it.

Exclusive to The Forgotten Kingdom DLC, the Trinity Crossbow is an elusive long gun in Remnant 2, designed for mid-range combat and ideal for Bleed builds. This lethal and elegant crossbow closely resembles the weapons of the Pan from Remnant: From the Ashes, known for crafting their crossbows from precious metals, finely crafted wood, and large Yaesha horns. Renowned for its precision and power, the Trinity Crossbow fires three bolts at once and boasts a large magazine, allowing players to deal significant damage before reloading. The only downside is that it lacks any unique built-in Weapon Mods.
Obtaining the Trinity Crossbow in Remnant 2 is no easy task. Players must reroll The Forgotten Kingdom campaign multiple times to collect three pieces of the Trinity Memento and deliver them to Dwell in Ward 13. As a reward, Dwell will gift the unique Echo of the Forest amulet. When worn inside a room in the Yaesha – Ancient Canopy area, featuring a wall with the Trinity symbol, the secret room will open, revealing the coveted Trinity Crossbow.

Remnant 2: Best Armor Sets, Ranked
Remnant 2 is a game that has a lot of different Armor Sets for players to look stylish in. Let's go over which ones are the best overall.
At base value, the Deceit is a six-round magazine gun that does one-hundred and twenty damage per shot with an ideal range of twenty-eight meters. Where the Deceit earns its weight in gold is with its unique ability, Ouroboros, which allows the Deceit to inflict weak spot damage after a melee attack. Deceit must be crafted using the Imposter's Heart at McCabe's, which can obtained by killing Faelin at the Beatific Gallery in Losomn.

For aspiring archers coming from Baldur's Gate 3, the Sagittarius is a great precision weapon that can dish out consistent high damage numbers at the cost of being a bow and arrow versus the high output weaponry available in the game.
The Sagittarius has a great draw time and turns headshots into instant kills for most enemies once upgraded. Above all else, the Sagittarius has an incredibly fun-to-use ability that opens a rip in reality after firing a special arrow that rains down energy projectiles on unsuspecting targets. Sagittarius can be claimed as a reward for completing the Cathedral of Omens Hope puzzle.
