Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of 2018's most highly-anticipated releases, which only makes the current lull in the stream of related information that much more difficult to endure. Fortunately, Rockstar is affirming that the dam will be breaking very shortly.

News of the forthcoming sequel to 2010's Red Dead Redemption has indeed been slow in recent weeks, but tomorrow that all changes. Rockstar has confirmed that the next trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 is dropping Monday, October 1. The company broke the exciting news on Twitter, even providing the exact time fans can tune in for the big reveal.

Pacific time, viewers will have access to the new trailer at 6 AM, while those on the East Coast can catch it at 9 AM. Not much further was revealed about what to expect, although with less than 24 hours to wait, it's hard to complain.

Better yet, Rockstar mentioned specifically that the trailer would focus on gameplay footage, which can provide a much-needed look at the game's in-engine graphics, physics, and mechanics. While any news on that front would surely be appreciated by many, what has been revealed already is enticing, to say the least.

Red Dead Redemption 2 footage

It was recently confirmed that Red Dead Redemption 2 would make the first-person perspective available as an alternative to the third-person perspective carried over from the original game. Accordingly, it's said that switching between perspectives will be quick and simple at any point in the game.

But perhaps the most interesting development to unfold regarding the approaching release of Red Dead Redemption 2 is the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode and November beta, which will allow between two and 32 concurrent players to play together, although other specifics are sparse.

Between its campaign and multiplayer modes, Red Dead Redemption 2 is shaping up to be a big game, substantial in size and complexity. However, all that content is going to cost PS4s in terms of storage space. In fact, the accompanying PS4 Pro bundle will include an external hard drive to accommodate the title's baffling 105 GB file size.

Red Dead Redemption 2  is set to launch on October 23, 2018 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
