Red Dead Redemption 2 Player Discovers Hidden Dialogue For Chunky Arthur
A Red Dead Redemption 2 player discovers some hidden dialogue that only activates while playing as an overweight Arthur Morgan.
After playing through Red Dead Redemption 2 a total of 11 times, Reddit user casperdacrook captured footage of Arthur Morgan humming and singing an original tune. This is the first time they have heard Arthur singing despite having over 500 hours of gameplay under their belt, showing how rare the dialogue is. Infused with his signature vocal gruff, some of the lyrics are indecipherable, coupled with the sounds of nature and Arthur's horse providing supplemental noise. However, some of the words pertain to Stillwater, mining in California, and an ending line where he proclaims, "for which I will be sorry until my dying day," a possible nod to Arthur's fate in Red Dead Redemption 2. The clip runs for only 46 seconds before it cuts after Arthur's final line in the song.
Despite casperdacrook encountering a moment where Arthur Morgan hums a tune only after playing through the game multiple times, Reddit user DrCarabou claimed that this singing happens all the time in their playthrough. Other commenters seem to have only heard the song via this video from casperdacrook, as there doesn't appear to be a way to specifically trigger the song. It's perhaps one of the rare Red Dead Redemption moments that either happen or don't, coming down to luck.
Regardless of whether players get to experience this musical moment on their first or eleventh try, it's great to see that a Red Dead Redemption 2 story playthrough can be unique for every player. There are many scripted moments in the game that can be found outside the main story, and hearing Arthur sing can be a treat for players lucky enough to encounter it.
