REANIMAL hides more beneath its surface than the main story lets on, as there's a hidden secret ending that can only be unlocked by finding every coffin scattered throughout the game. Missing even one is enough to lock players out of unlocking the ending entirely. With no in-game tracker or second chances, knowing where to look is essential. This guide covers all coffin locations to help you unlock REANIMAL’s secret ending, which will also unlock the Friends Reunited trophy/achievement.

All Coffin Locations in REANIMAL (Secret Ending)
There are a total of five coffins hidden throughout the chapters of REANIMAL. Opening these coffins will release a phantom of a child and a glimpse of the dreadful fate that befell them. Here's how you can find all the coffins and achieve the secret ending.
First Coffin Location in REANIMAL (Chapter One: Dead in the Water)
As players find the missing wheels of the railcar (draisine), they'll start taking it over the tracks and cross the bridge to reach the other side. Before heading inside the tunnel across the bridge, you'll need to stop the railcar and hop off it.
Keep heading to the left of the area until you spot a train carriage with an open door. Jump to climb inside the carriage and follow it to the back, and exit out the other side.
You'll arrive at a broken train track with a small wooden railcar crashed into a tunnel. On the ground, you'll spot a shaking coffin that you can open up to free the first soul.
Second Coffin Location in REANIMAL (Chapter Three: After the Flood)
Players will pick up harpoons while boat-riding across the flooded streets of the town. Once you approach the area where the Hotel's sign is visible, you'll need to turn right and go down the street.
At the end of the street to the left, you'll spot a small pathway that's blocked by two sea mines. Destroy the sea mines and make your way through the narrow section to reach a beach area.
After going through the narrow pathway, you'll arrive in an open area that resembles a prison building. You'll see a cell in front of you emitting a yellow glow.
Shimmy through the bar and start going down the long staircase. You'll arrive at a small platform at the bottom with the second Coffin placed on it.
Third Coffin Location in REANIMAL (Chapter Three: After the Flood)
After one of the friends is taken away by a monstrous Pelican to a lighthouse, you'll enter a new area with an island in the middle. There's a large cannon on the island, and you'll need to loop around this island (go around the island in the right direction) to reach the other side.
You'll spot a small cave inside a mount to the right side. As a reference point, there's an open door inside the cannon on the island, and you'll need to head opposite to it to reach this hidden cavern.
After crossing the cavern, you'll eventually reach the third Coffin in REANIMAL and will be able to free the lost soul trapped inside.
Fourth Coffin Location in REANIMAL (Chapter Four: No Shelter)
As players explore the Orphanage in chapter four, they'll finally reach the room where the kid with the bucket head will be getting roped down the hole. After the short combat encounter with other pale kids, you'll finally be able to pull the bucket-head kid out of the hole. Before doing anything to progress further, head to the door to the left of the room.
Inside the room, you'll find the fourth Coffin that you can open up and free the soul of another lost kid.
Fifth Coffin Location in REANIMAL (Chapter Seven: The Spoils)
Towards the end of the Hospital section in chapter seven, players will need to escape multiple rooms with exploding soldiers. They'll eventually need to carefully run through a hallway with the same exploding soldiers wreaking havoc.
Once you reach the end of the hallway, turn right. Make sure not to enter through the door and wait for the explosions to end. Once that happens, head back towards the camera, and you'll spot a hole in the wall created by explosions. Enter the hole and turn the handle to a secret bunker that will lead to the underground armory.
Once you head down the long ladder into the armor, you'll find the final Coffin at the bottom. After finding all five Coffins in REANIMAL, you can freely progress through the story and complete the game. While the game's conclusion will remain unchanged, there's a secret cutscene that'll play at the end (which I won't spoil) that will unlock the Friends United trophy.
