How to Complete Chapter 2

The main goal of the second Chapter is to find Luis. To achieve this goal, players will need to survive the Los Ganados and locate the Chief’s Manor—near the Village. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help players beat this mission.

The main and sub-objectives of this mission are as follows:

  • Head for the Church
  • Fight the Black Robe (side quest)
  • Head for the Village Chief’s Manor

Get into the Villa

The first major battle in Chapter 2 happens as soon as players get off the ladder at the end of the hanging platforms. Here, a Brute and a group of Ganados attack Ada, blocking her way to the next section. Luckily, this section is skippable, allowing players to run past the enemies and grapple to the other side.

For those choosing to fight off the RE4 enemies, the best strategy would be to hide behind the booby trap (dynamite) and wait for the Brute to come hit it. This will significantly reduce his health, making it easier to defeat him.

After this standoff, players will enter the Villa, where a horde of Ganados previously ambushed Luis and Leon. Clearing this area will initiate a cutscene leading to the next section.

Another Brute will attack players in the Villa. However, they can once again skip the fight by grappling to the gate at the other end of the bridge.

Solve the Door Puzzle

To unlock the door in Chapter 2, players must press buttons in the following sequence: Up, Left, Down-Right. If the puzzle platform is visualized as a clock, the buttons should be pressed at the positions representing 12, 9, and 4.

Note that the codes are printed on the nearby walls with yellow ink. Players can solve this puzzle by identifying the shapes imprinted on the walls.

Opening this door will lead to the cemetery area, where Luis is supposed to meet with Ada.

Defeat the Black Robe (Second Encounter)

Once Ada is done talking to Wesker, head for the Village Square to complete Chapter 2’s sub-objective: The second Black Robe boss fight. To wrap up this battle, aim for the monster’s head and throw Flash Grenades to make its shadows vanish.

Whenever the Black Robe is stunned, perform a Grapple Gun Melee followed by a knife attack. This will drain his HP much faster.

When confused, shoot the creature with glowing red eyes.

Find the Village Chief’s Manor

The last objective of Chapter 2 is to locate Bitores Mendez’s house, the Chief’s Manor. Exit the door on the right flank of the Village Square and follow the path until his Manor appears.

That’s all. Another cutscene will conclude the mission, piloting players to the next Chapter.

All Chapter 2 Treasure Locations

Players can find seven treasures in Separate Ways’s second Chapter: A Red Gemstone Ring, Flagon, Red Ruby, Velvet Blue, Sapphire, Elegant Perfume, and Gold Bangle.

  • A Red Gemstone Ring is in front of the booby trap under the hanging platforms. (This is the first area players explore in Chapter 2.)
  • The Flagon can be found to the right of the Villa. (Make a U-turn after exiting the Villa to locate a secret path leading to the treasure.)
  • A Red Ruby is on the Church’s rooftop. Grapple to the roof and shoot the crow nest to get it.
  • A Velvet Blue is hanging on the ceiling inside the Town Hall (near the Village Square).
  • A Blue Sapphire is in the bedroom of the second house on the right in the Village Square.
  • The Elegant Perfume Bottle is inside the locked barn. Use the crack on the building’s left flank to get in.
  • A Gold Bangle is inside the locked drawer in the house where Leon was trapped. (Requires a small key to open.)
