Summary

  • Razer & Pokemon create a Gengar headset, but it's exclusive to China.
  • Gengar remains popular among fans with new releases & attention.
  • No plans to offer the Gengar headset outside of China.

Razer and Pokemon have partnered up to produce an incredible Gengar headset, but fans outside of China will have trouble getting one. The new release is part of a Pokemon x Razer PC gaming Gengar collection that's limited to releasing in China.

While Pokemon is loved worldwide, there are nonetheless releases and promotions that are limited to specific regions. The most common is of course those held in Japan, as the franchise began there, but there have also been promotions limited to places like the United States, China, and even France. While fans of the Ghost/Poison-type Gastly evolutionary line might want one of these headsets for themselves, they'll need to import it from China.

Pokemon Fan Bakes Horrifying Mr. Mime Cake for Halloween

A talented Pokemon fan gets into the Halloween season by baking a creepy Mr. Mime cake that shows the clown-like creature in a dark and twisted light.

The new Razer Pokemon headset is quite adorable and would likely please just about any mega fan of Gengar. The purple headset features Gengar's iconic head spikes and pointy ears, plus special Gengar ornamentation on the inside of the ear cup as well as an illuminated Gengar on the outside of either ear cup. The Gengar Razer headset is a version of the Razer Kraken V3 X headset, which is a lightweight, comfortable headset with integrated Razer Chroma RGB lighting and a HyperClear Cardioid Mic. Unfortunately, there are no plans to offer this particular headset outside of China, so those who have to have one will need to import it into their own country. Thankfully, there has been plenty of Gengar merchandise available worldwide, so there are other releases that may please fans.

The Overwhelming Popularity of Gengar Continues

Gengar and its former evolutions, Gastly and Haunter, have been popular ever since they were first introduced at the start of the series. However, that popularity seems to have only grown since then. While many Gen 1 creatures have been overlooked or largely forgotten by Game Freak and fans as more Pokemon have joined the series, Gengar has remained an icon among them. Likely due in part to this continuing worldwide popularity, Gengar has gotten a lot of attention from the official game developers as well, with Mega Gengar and Gigantamax Gengar both joining the franchise over the series' mainline releases.

Pokemon recently experienced a devastating leak that seemed to reveal lots of cut content, future content, and even internal employee information. So far, it doesn't seem like that leak contains any information regarding Gengar, which may mean that the Pokemon won't feature in Pokemon Legends: Z-A in any major way. However, fans of the franchise will need to wait and see what the future holds.
