The launch of the PlayStation 5 is within months, but there's still a surprising amount that PlayStation fans don't know about the console. Price and release date are obvious details that need to be revealed. But just as important is the PS5's launch line-up. The lack of details regarding the PS5's launch line-up leaves room for a variety of speculation. The PS5 could even have a secret launch title that has yet to be announced, which is exactly what one recent rumor alleges.
The rumor comes from YouTuber Benji Sales, who claims to have insider knowledge regarding Sony's planned launch line-up for the PS5. Benji Sales claims that Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be a PS5 launch title. However, he says that Miles Morales will not be the only big PS5 exclusives delivered at launch. He says that there's another exclusive game that will be available on PS5 at launch, but that he can't provide any other information about it.
All that Benji Sales is willing to add on the topic is that the other exclusive is not Astro's Playrooom. Astro's Playroom will still be available for the PS5's launch, but Benji Sales apparently considers it more of a demo than a full game or exclusive. The PS5 exclusive that he's referring to is another game entirely.
While Benji Sales doesn't offer any hints regarding what the other big PS5 exclusive launch title could be, speculators have a list of titles that could potentially fit the bill. Gran Turismo 7, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and Sackboy's Big Adventure are three that seem to be talked about most prominently. All are based entirely on wishful thinking, of course. There's no immediately available evidence that these games are nearing completion. There's definitely room for these games to be further along in development than assumed, however.
Another popular theory is that there's an unannounced game in development for PS5 that will be revealed soon. Specifically, PlayStation fans think that Sony could have a multiplayer PS5 game of some sort planned for launch. Again, there's no substantial evidence of such a game. It's just fans speculating about what they'd like to see on the PS5 in 2020.
Unfortunately, Benji Sales isn't necessarily a reliable source. It's entirely possible that he's making an assumption or that his source for this information is unreliable. That said, it would be reasonable to assume that Sony will have another big exclusive for the PS5's launch. It's just a matter of when Sony will announce it, at this point.
The PS5 releases holiday 2020.
