PlayStation 5 gamers have at least 13 big new games releasing in October 2025 that they should definitely keep an eye on. 2025 has been a solid year for the PlayStation 5. The console has enjoyed some major exclusive releases, and it has also seen no shortage of high-profile third-party games.
Unless they only released on PC or Switch consoles, the majority of major new game releases in 2025 have landed on the PS5. This includes Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, the highest-rated new game release of 2025 so far, and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, the latest open world adventure from Hideo Kojima that is also notable for being exclusive to Sony's latest console, among many other titles. 2025 has been full of great PS5 games, and now what is sure to be one of the console's biggest months is right around the corner.
PS5 is About to Go on a Ridiculous Hot Streak
Thanks to a slew of high-profile new releases, Sony's PlayStation 5 console is on the verge of a ridiculous hot streak.
Currently, there are 13 big games confirmed for PS5 in October 2025. The month is getting started off hot with the release of PS5 exclusive Ghost of Yotei on October 2, followed by Digimon Story: Time Stranger on October 3. Then, Battlefield 6 and Little Nightmares 3 are releasing on October 10, with Ninja Gaiden 4 and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 dropping on October 21. Dispatch, a new episodic superhero game, is releasing October 22, while Once Upon a Katamari is scheduled for release on October 24. The end of October is going to be especially busy for PS5 gamers, with The Outer Worlds 2 dropping on October 29, and ARC Raiders, Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake, and Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection all releasing on October 30. Finally, Mina the Hollower, the latest from Shovel Knight studio Yacht Club Games, will release on October 31, capping off what is sure to be an incredibly exciting month for PS5.

Ghost of Yotei is clearly the headliner when it comes to new PS5 games releasing in October 2025. The highly-anticipated follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yotei stars new protagonist Atsu as she hunts down the sinister members of the Yotei Six. Like Tsushima before it, Ghost of Yotei has the potential to be a Game of the Year contender, and it will be very exciting to see how it turns out.
That's not to downplay the other major PS5 games releasing in October 2025. Battlefield 6 is on track to become one of the year's best-selling games, while Xbox is bringing both Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2 to PS5 next month as well. Extraction shooter ARC Raiders may very well turn out to be the runaway hit next month, and if Shovel Knight is any indication, Mina the Hollower stands a serious chance at becoming one of the year's highest-rated new releases when it's all said and done. With all these new games coming out, it's clear that October 2025 is going to be absolutely massive for PS5.
