Set to bring the familiar thrills of the 1999 survival horror Dino Crisis to life once more, TeamKill Media has confirmed an official launch date of November 14 for its upcoming prehistoric shooter, Code Violet. Coming exclusively to PlayStation 5 consoles, Code Violet blends third-person action with dinosaur-fueled horror in a dystopian sci-fi conspiracy.
Audiences have been asking for a revival of the original Dino Crisis game from Capcom for years, and while that launch received a port to PC in January 2025, TeamKill Media looks to be answering the call for a fully fresh title featuring terrifying creatures from pre-history. Similar to its spiritual predecessor, Code Violet will be launching as a PlayStation exclusive, giving fans of Dino Crisis the opportunity to relive the nostalgic horror with a new dinosaur experience.
Iconic Horror Franchise Is Getting a New Single-Player Game for Console and PC
One of the most iconic horror film franchises is finally getting a brand-new single-player game on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
Code Violet will transport players to the 25th century after a cataclysmic event has wiped out life on Earth and left the once prosperous planet uninhabitable. In spite of efforts to flee the planet and establish a new cvivilization elsewhere, humans become faced with their own extinction as infertility begins plaguing the Aion colony. They resort to developing a time-travel device, which is then used to kidnap women from the past and use them as surrogates to sustain the populations of the future. Players will take on the role of Violet Sinclair, a young woman who has awoken in the Aion Bioengineering Complex, and must face off against swarms of ferocious dinosaurs and hostile threats. Violet will need to uncover Aion's dark secrets and fight for survival to escape in this chaotic take on old-school PlayStation survival horror games.
Code Violet Release Date and Trailer
- November 24, 2025
Similar to other titles in the genre, Code Violet requires players to carefully manage their resources with a limited inventory while making critical choices about which weapons, health items, and puzzle-solving tools they will take with them on their journey. The modernized third-person camera allows for an explosive blend of melee attacks and ranged tactics against the bloodthirsty dinosaurs rampaging about. Ray-traced visuals, 3D audio, haptic feedback, and mind-bending puzzles all aim to immerse players in a truly terrifying prehistoric adventure dripping with conspiracy and betrayal. Code Violet is available now for wishlisting on the PlayStation Store and launches exclusively for PS5 in November.
Horror gaming has seen a renaissance of sorts in recent years, with the remakes of Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill 2 among the more prominent titles to once again push survival horror to the forefront of audience interests. Whether this modern surge in popularity for horror will help Code Violet to earn the same acclaim as Dino Crisis and other classics remains to be seen, but the environment is certainly ripe for new survival horror offerings.
