One of the big announcements coming from the Sony camp at the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) was in regards to their push into full-motion gaming.

On Thursday at TGS unveiled their new motion controller and confirmed that it's set for release next Spring. In addition to that, they listed some of their first party games that will operate with the new control system.

The yet-to-be-named peripheral for the PS3 works in conjunction with the PlayStation Eye camera to track all movement in your body including facial expressions.  The motion controller is built with motion sensors, a gyroscope, an accelerometer and  sphere at the end that changes color to give the user feedback.  It also comes standard with a built-in rechargeable battery and rumble feature.

Pricing information hasn't been released but we do know that the following upcoming Sony Computer Entertainment titles will support use with the new motion controls: Ape Escape, Echochrome 2, Eccentric Slider, Sing and DrawChampions of Time, Motion Party, The Shoot and Tower.

In addition to those, the following SCE games already in the market will also support the feature through a patch to release sometime next year: PAIN, Flower, Hustle Kings, High Velocity Bowling, EyePet.

Are you excited to make use of the PS3 motion controllers are do you fear this will just flood the market with low-budget gimicky games that just make basic use of the new functionality like we've seen from a plethora of Wii titles?.
