- Fans believe the upcoming release of WALL-E is an emulated classic based on either the PS2 or PSP version.
The 2008 Disney-Pixar game WALL-E has been leaked as a new title coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 for PlayStation Plus Premium members. This March, WALL-E could be a new addition to the monthly PlayStation Plus catalog, which regularly brings classic PlayStation, PlayStation 2, and PlayStation Portable games to subscribers around the world.
Every month, Sony introduces a batch of free PlayStation Plus games that subscribers in all subscription tiers (Essential, Extra, and Premium) may redeem and keep as long as their subscription renews. The Premium tier grants access to classic PS1, PS2, and PSP games, along with cloud streaming for PS3 and PS5 games. These classic titles are part of the monthly PlayStation Plus Game Catalog, which includes the recently added combat flight simulator Dropship: United Peace Force for PS2 and fan-favorite rhythm game Patapon 3 for PSP.
PlayStation Portal Users Can Now Stream 8 New Games With PS Plus Premium
The PlayStation Portal receives eight new games for users to stream directly on the device thanks to a new batch of PS Plus Premium titles.
As spotted by Gematsu on Twitter, a rating of Disney-Pixar's WALL-E for PS4 and PS5 by the Taiwanese Ratings Board was leaked. The rating suggests that WALL-E will be released for both consoles as a PlayStation Plus Premium title, but it's unclear whether the PS2 or PSP version is being brought over to the subscription service. So far, only emulated versions of PS1, PS2, and PSP games, such as Disney-Pixar's Up, have been rated for the service, according to Gematsu. The rating doesn't refer to WALL-E's PS3 version, since PS3 games are streamed via PlayStation Plus and not directly released on PS4 and PS5.
Disney-Pixar's WALL-E Rating Suggests an Upcoming Release for PlayStation Plus Premium
- WALL-E for PlayStation Plus Premium could be based on either the PS2 or PSP version and not the PS3 version.
- PS3 games are streamed over the cloud and don't receive separate ratings.
- WALL-E could be part of the PlayStation Plus Premium Game Catalog for March 2025.
Some fans are hopeful that the PS2 version of WALL-E will be the one coming to the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog soon. However, none of the Disney-Pixar games from the PS2 have been brought over to PlayStation Plus thus far, leading some fans to believe that Sony will bring the PSP version just like Up and Toy Story 3. Only a select few Disney games, such as Indiana Jones and the Staff of Kings and Star Wars: The Clone Wars, were made available with PlayStation Plus.
Sony is expected to reveal its next PlayStation Plus Game and Classics Catalog in mid-March 2025. Before then, the PlayStation Plus monthly free games lineup for March 2025 will likely be revealed around March 3, which is the last day that subscribers can redeem their free games from the February 2025 PlayStation Plus lineup. Payday 3, High on Life and Pac-Man World Re-Pac are the three free games that subscribers of all three tiers can redeem on PS4 and PS5 by March 3.
