Summary

  • PS Plus Premium subscribers have four new additions to look forward to this month.
  • PSP classics like Jeanne d'Arc and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters are part of the Premium lineup.
  • Up-rendering, rewind, and custom filters are included in Premium games, with possible trophy support, though the latter is unconfirmed at the time of this writing.

Sony has officially revealed the four games coming to the Premium tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service on July 16, 2024. As the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, Premium gives subscribers access to everything that the lower tiers bring to the table on top of the Premium-exclusive games.

What this means is that PS Plus Premium subscribers are able to claim the free PS Plus games for July 2024 for their digital libraries, and they can also check out the nine games that are coming to PS Plus Extra on July 16 as well. All of that is very exciting, but the big selling point of PS Plus Premium is access to retro games. July 2024 will give PS Plus Premium subscribers three more retro games to check out, plus one of the most popular PlayStation VR2 titles for those that have purchased Sony's latest virtual reality headset.

Sony official reveals all nine games coming to the Extra tier of its PlayStation Plus subscription service in July 2024.

On July 16, PS Plus Premium subscribers can play Jeanne d'Arc, Job Simulator, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, and Summoner. Jeanne d'Arc and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters are PSP titles, whereas Summoner was actually a launch title for the PlayStation 2 when that beloved console first launched 24 years ago. For fans of classic PlayStation games, the PS Plus Premium July 2024 lineup should be pretty impressive.

PS Plus Premium Games for July 2024

  • Jeanne d'Arc (PS4/PS5)
  • Job Simulator (PS VR2)
  • Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters (PS4/PS5)
  • Summoner (PS4/PS5)

After all, Jeanne d'Arc is often considered one of the best PSP games ever made. Until now, the game has been trapped on PSP since launch, meaning a whole new generation of gamers will soon get to see what all the fuss is about. Jeanne d'Arc is a turn-based tactical RPG that earned critical acclaim for its gameplay and story. It may very well be the standout new PS Plus Premium game for July 2024, but it's certainly not the only title subscribers should check out.

Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters is another highly-rated PSP game joining the Premium lineup in July 2024. It's exactly as it sounds, a bite-sized version of Ratchet and Clank's home console adventures, and is also quite good. PS2 launch title and action-RPG Summoner is the lowest-scored of the new PS Plus Premium games, but it still has its fans and was popular enough to justify a sequel back in the day.

It should be noted that Jeanne d'Arc and Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters both feature up-rendering, rewind, quick save, and custom video filters, though there's no word yet on if they will have trophy support. Many PS Plus Premium additions have included trophy support of late, so it would be surprising for them to skip the feature. Fans will find out when the new PS Plus Premium games are added on July 16.
