Another game has been added to the list of titles that will be leaving PlayStation Plus in December 2025, bringing the total number of games being removed to 10. PlayStation Plus removals impact those who are signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers of the service.
PlayStation added the Extra and Premium options to PS Plus in 2022, giving PlayStation owners an experience similar to the Xbox Game Pass with a rotating library of games. This means that there's always something new to play, but it also means that games are removed on a regular basis as well.
January 2026 Will Be the End of an Era for PlayStation Plus
January 2026 marks the unfortunate end of an era for the popular PlayStation Plus subscription service.
11-11: Memories Retold Being Removed From PS Plus
The latest game being removed from PS Plus in December is 11-11: Memories Retold. Released by Bandai Namco in 2018, this narrative-driven story follows two soldiers on opposite sides of World War I. Harry, a Canadian photographer voiced by Elijah Wood, joins the Allied Western Front in Europe to take photographs of the war effort. Kurt, a German engineer voiced by Sebastian Koch, joins the German Army after learning his son is missing in action. Players follow the characters through the war by completing quests that will tell their individual stories, with their paths eventually intertwining.
The game received a generally favorable Metacritic score of 77 and a user score of 7.3. The watercolor art style of the game provides a fresh take on the narrative story genre, but users say that it can take some time to get used to the way it looks on screen. However, the emotional story of the two soldiers is what drew players into the experience. PS Plus subscribers who enjoy narrative-driven stories like Life is Strange may want to give 11-11: Memories Retold a try before it leaves the service on December 16.

Grand Theft Auto 3 – The Definitive Edition, Sonic Frontiers, and Battlefield 2042 are some of the bigger titles being removed from PS Plus. While Battlefield 2042 had a rough start at launch, players gravitated back to the title earlier this year before the release of Battlefield 6 in October. Sonic Frontiers is the first open-world Sonic the Hedgehog game, and while it had mixed reviews from critics, it is rated favorably by users as one of the better 3D Sonic the Hedgehog titles.
While removals are unfortunately a part of a rotating subscription service, PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers are being treated to some beloved titles in November and December, with Grand Theft Auto 5 recently added to the service. And on December 2, Red Dead Redemption will be added to the PS Plus Extra tier of the service, the same day the title is being released to modern platforms.
