This selection of new PS Plus games has a fair amount of variety and features a few very popular games. The Last of Us Part 1 and Dead Space are two highly rated titles that scratch the survival game itch, allowing players to fight zombies in a post-apocalyptic world and a futuristic spaceship, respectively. Similarly, WWE 2K24 is another well-received game that enables players to live out their professional wrestling fantasy and step into the boots of their favorite WWE wrestlers. Offering a vastly different experience compared to these AAA games, Doki Doki Literature Club is for those looking to dive into the story with minimal gameplay input needed. Earlier this month, The Plucky Squire was also added to the Game Catalog on its launch day, bringing a new Zelda-like action-adventure game into the fray for subscribers.
It's been a favorable period for Sony's subscription service recently. In August, PS Plus saw an uptick in player engagement, bolstered by freebies such as Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga attracting interest. With more popular AAA games entering the mix soon, it won't be surprising if the service sees a notable boost in player count in October.
