Summary

  • June 2024 brings Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise to PS Plus Extra and Premium members, with July's lineup promising even better titles.
  • Elden Ring, Hades, and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are potential free games for July 2024, offering varied gameplay experiences.
  • Subscribers can expect PS Plus Essential games on June 26 and Extra/Premium games on July 10, marking important dates for discovering new titles.

Apart from an underwhelming selection of PS Plus Essential games, June 2024 has proven to be a great month for the service by providing PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers with several noteworthy titles. Capcom's Monster Hunter Rise is the headliner for June's PS Plus Extra and Premium additions, and it couldn't have come at a better time, considering Monster Hunter Wilds is likely now less than a year away. Unfortunately, June is almost over, meaning players don't have much time left to claim its games — but July's are just around the corner.

As far as when July 2024's PS Plus Essential games will be announced, subscribers should mark June 26 on their calendars. However, for the announcement of PS Plus' Extra and Premium games, the date to remember is July 10. The hope is that July 2024's PS Plus lineup will offer even better titles than June did, and there are thankfully plenty of options available that would make sense, given current trends.

Every Monthly Game Added To PS Plus

New monthly PlayStation Plus games! Sony is always adding goodies to its subscription service. The January 2026 Extra games have been revealed.

PS Plus Free Game for July 2024: Elden Ring

FromSoftware's Elden Ring is far past its due date for being added to PS Plus, especially considering how excellent it is. While FromSoftware titles have been known to avoid PS Plus like the plague, July 2024 would arguably be the best month for Elden Ring to be added to the service. The Soulslike's DLC Shadow of the Erdtree has made history as the highest-rated video game DLC ever made, and Elden Ring's presence on PS Plus would undoubtedly boost sales for it.

PS Plus Free Game for July 2024: Hades

Hades is another title that would be an excellent addition to PS Plus in July 2024, as it serves as the successful Hades 2's predecessor. As Hades 2 is currently in early access and still attracting new players, perhaps adding the first Hades to PS Plus would pull in even more players for the sequel. Whereas players control the humble and talented Melinoe in Hades 2, they control the charismatic and compassionate Zagreus in Hades. While Hades isn't necessarily required reading for Hades 2, Zagreus is more than worth spending some time with before diving into the sequel.

PS Plus Free Game for July 2024: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

With the release of Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment's Star Wars Outlaws just around the corner, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's addition to PS Plus in July would be timely and well-received. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor takes the formula established by its predecessor and adds to it much larger and more diverse worlds for players to explore, as well as a host of new and familiar characters to spend time with, and new abilities and cosmetics to unlock.

PS Plus Extra and Premium Games for June 2024 Wish List

There are several games that could come to PS Plus in July, but some of them may make more sense than others. These include:

  • PS5: While it wouldn't be the best-reviewed game in the lineup, Luminous Productions' Forspoken is long overdue for the PS Plus treatment.
  • PS4: Another excellent FromSoftware title that has yet to be added to PS Plus is Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and July 2024 would be a great time for its arrival.
  • PS3: With Ken Levine's Judas arriving very soon, BioShock's addition to PS Plus in July 2024 would be timely.
  • PSP: Plenty of Kingdom Hearts news has been circulating as of late, so Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep wouldn't be a bad July 2024 PS Plus addition.
  • PS2: Silent Hill 2's remake arrives in October of this year, which would make July 2024 the perfect time to play the original via PS Plus.
  • PS1: After the success of Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, it would make sense for the original Final Fantasy 7 to grace PS Plus with its presence.

PS Plus subscribers get a handful of games every month.
