Summary
- New games are now available for PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers.
- Highlights include God of War Ragnarok and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name.
- Premium subscribers get access to all the Extra games, plus two exclusives.
PlayStation Plus subscribers who are signed up for the Extra or Premium tiers have a batch of new games to check out as of today. The Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus are treated to new games on a monthly basis. Most of the time, the games are announced in the middle of the month, and then they are added the following week.
This pattern has held true when it comes to the new PS Plus Extra and Premium games for January 2025. PlayStation Plus subscribers were clued in on all the games last week, and now they have the chance to check them out through their subscription. Nine of the new games are available to both PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers, while two of them are exclusive to the Premium tier. So, as always, those signed up for PS Plus Premium get the most bang for their buck.

The two biggest games added to PS Plus Extra and Premium as part of the January 2025 lineup are God of War Ragnarok and Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. God of War Ragnarok is the latest entry in Sony's beloved God of War franchise, continuing the story where the 2018 game left off and significantly increasing the stakes in the process. A huge, action-packed adventure, God of War Ragnarok earned critical acclaim at the time of its release and was nominated for numerous awards. Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, meanwhile, is a bite-sized entry in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise, serving as a bridge of sorts between Yakuza: Like a Dragon and the latest entry in the series, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
PS Plus subscribers may also want to prioritize Citizen Sleeper. A sci-fi RPG that earned mostly positive reviews, Citizen Sleeper is considered a great game by many, and as it so happens, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector's release date is right around the corner. Fans can use their PS Plus Extra and Premium subscriptions to get up to speed in time to check out the sequel when it launches on January 31.
