I truly hope not. I know there are those that really enjoy these companions, I like them but struggle to connect with anyone in Veilguard. Taash was the closest.
I hope Mass Effect 4 uses some of the mechanics for combat but doesn't limit our party composition based on apply effect and trigger effect. There were times that for lore I wanted to bring two people along, but their abilities didn't work together or with my own abilities.
