My fellow anime watchers In my openion I should say that the one who will be surpassing Gol.D.Roger the pirate King will be Monkey.D.luffy.As he is the main character who dreams of becoming the pirate King as for the red haired Shanks he acts as a Mentor to Monkey.D.luffy.And he has extremely powerful haki in the entire series but it doesn't make him surpass luffy.eventually luffy will surpass Gol.D.Rogers,not only him but Shanks and the four emperors also.I can say this confidentially as we all know that luffy s power is increasing throughout the series. Another point we know that luffy possess gear 5 Or commonly knowns as the Son god nika which the joy boy also has it, who is many time powerful than gol d roger not only him but also Emu.And also I noticed that luffy has similar traits to joy boy.He does big things like fighting an emperor s entire army and knocking out 10,000 fishman in an instant at a younger age with is powerful conqueror haki at this younger age so I believe his conqueror will develope throughout the series and will be transformed into joy boy s haki.so I believe that he will become the pirate King and will eventually surpass the gol.d.roger.
