See AllThe Return of Call of Duty: Warzone’s Verdansk Could Be the Game’s Watershed Moment
I feel that Verdansk isn't truly what will bring life back to the game. We have had a lot of very eye-catching maps. For me personally, I think it's more so about the experience of combat between players within each game. Are players actually having fun from the time they drop out of that plane or helicopter to the time that they get back in it or go back to the lobby.
Are they itching to play again because there encouraged that they will win the next game? Or are they only playing another match because the want to show grace to the game even though battles with other players make doing so quite irritable?
If it were me who would have to choose, personally I would adjust the game so that there are no more added events or operators. And I would give players the opportunity to either grind for operators that came before BO6 via challenges or lower the price to pay for the operators that are already in there (bundles included.)
Even if warzone were still to die out in due time, allowing the players to earn operators without having to pay money, or as much before could still keep them in the game hypothetically speaking. And to a degree, like Rainbow 6 Siege, if warzone really starts to come alive again, the devs can begin to resupport the game, but with players having more skins to enjoy using while they play, along with weapon camos and many other applications as well.
But if the game gets taken out completely, all of the time, energy, effort, competition and grinding that players have put into the game over the years will die out with it. And the only thing that will be left are the memories of the good times that they'll never get to relive again.
At that, point just allow the players to enjoy with what with started (making Verdansk as the first and final warzone map for good.)
