Actually Michael Connelly did. With his last book Desert Star (a Ballard and Bosch book). It's book 5 in the Renee Ballard series, some of the quickest reads I've ever had. Connelly paves the way for Bosch's exit.
Connelly wrote the first Bosch book in what, 1992? I'm thinking he's had enough. I don't believe Amazon has anything to do with it. Kinda hard to keep airing great episodes without the author providing input
