I'm not 100% sure what you mean by time lapse; if it's the delay between season one and season 2, IMO that's a nothing burger. I'm thrilled if a good anime gets another season even if it's 10 years later. As a casual anime enjoyer I can say I've looked forward to season 2, but with an episode release schedule that encompasses half a year, It has been very difficult for me to stay engaged. What I end up doing is: find another show while waiting for an episode to release; forget about it entirely while enjoying the other fully released show; browse a month later and go "oh yeah tower of god"; I watch the 3-4 episodes that have since released; then get back to the same issue of "time to find another show while I wait". I'd much rather they release the season at a faster pace such as 3 episodes each weekend instead of stringing us along for 6 months. I imagine I can't be the only one in this boat too and it would explain the spradic lulls in engagement with season 2.
