See AllWolf Man: Best Monster Movies Leigh Whannel Should Reboot
As far as monsters go, I agree. I think the Xenomorph are the most nightmarish thing ever. Love them.
To touch on Whannell, I hope the guy doesn't touch any other classic monster, personally. I feel he very cheaply used the name Wolfman and the Invisible Man to make two incredibly subpar remakes that short of the namesake, don't have anything to do much at all with the Original Stories of the Invisible Man and the Wolfman respectively. And as bad as Wolfman just tanked, I think his days of touching the classic Universal horror names or any other classic horror monster, are hopefully done. Both movies seem to really just sit in limbo in the stalker genre. And having seen both movies once each, I certainly never feel the need to sit down and revisit either movie.
Universal really seems to be having DC problems as far as finding their Niche and jump starting their franchises. Their first mistake was the Tom Cruise action movie version of The Mummy. Trying to bank going back to the drawing board with Whannell was a poor decision.
With the success of Egger's Nosferatu now, Universal should look back at the Benicio del Toro Wolfman of 2010. I still feel that movie is Simply Amazing and proves certain storylines just work better in certain time periods in history.
