Yeah, this isn't happening and let's be honest: it's kind of better that way. The original Parasite Eve game was amazing. The sequel was also quite good. The third game was an absolute abomination that never should have been made. It makes Other M look like a faithful love-letter to everything beloved about Metroid. It's like a Paul W.S. Andersen adaptation in video game form.

Current Year Squenix would jettison everything about Parasite Eve that made it truly unique. The very strange hybrid of specific survival-horror elements (hunting for supplies, fixed camera angles, brooding atmosphere, horrible mutant monsters) and RPG elements (leveling, equipment stats, magic, and turn-based combat with real-time movement) and its bizarre, operatic sci-fi story was what made PE different from, say, Resident Evil which was at the time codifying all the survival-horror tropes. They'd 100% make it a real-time action game like they did with Final Fantasy VII's remake. And we already have those games.

PE's weird hybrid of tank-controls survival-horror presentation and free-movement + turn-based combat were a big part of what made it actually stand out. Take those away and it just looks like a Resident Evil clone.
