Unlike his father who in most cases was actively investing in the Gotham City, he is mostly spends money on Batman related stuff. Sometimes he uses his reserves to buy different companies. But overall he just sits on his money. Basically his father was a nice guy and got killed for that, so he is taking different approach in order to improve the city.
