If they hadn't killed Desmond off, they probably wouldn't be having this problem. Their ISU storyline is all to hell, too.

That said, I'm still enjoying Shadows. Assassin's Creed has been my favorite franchise since the second game. Hell, I even have the Assassin's symbol tattooed on the back of my right hand. 😂
