See All'Makes No Sense At All' Fans Point Out How The Walking Dead Suffers From One Of The Most Annoying Zombie Story Pitfalls
It does make sense though. Everyone is infected for starters, so if you die in a way that the brain is still intact, you come back. Most of the ones who quit, quit early and probably wouldn't of known that you still come back, prompting all suicides that lack head damage (I.e drowning, cutting) to return, which is just another infestation waiting to attack. As for the shows showing everything gone so fast, Napalm was dropped in the streets of big city's, which I believe is explained in The Ones Who Live spinoff series. Everything being empty was basically explained in Season 1 of TWD when they meet G trying to get Glenn back from the Vatos. They all ran, and I don't think they cared too much to lock the doors behind them. TWD also shows a lot of psychological effects that happen as a result of being out there, Carl is a stellar example of that. Let's be honest, if the world were to fall like that, America isn't making it. For one, the human race can be selfish, especially in times of crisis, and for two, Americans don't always get along with each other. The best example in the show is Merle and T-Dog. The amount of time that passes between the start of the virus, and then just survivors is actually pretty decent, you just want it to be a slow burn, but this isn't romance, it's horror.
