Sanji is a nuanced character and Toei stripping away that nuance is making him generic and forgetful. There's also one translation issue in Wano arc where they want star (for Zoro) instead of stars (for both of them). It's quite sad. Oda usually hints at them being equals. But in anime, Sanji is made to look bad to make Zoro look good. (Which is also weird, because Zoro is already cool. He doesn't need to be propped up by disservicing another character.)
