The time skip wasn't confirmed yet; these are still just speculations. I feel iffy about the timeskip; it's true that most of the straw hats aren't strong enough, but I don't think that Luffy will "take a break" unless they're defeated on Elbaf, or are unable to move along their journey. Also, about people thinking that time moves more slowly at Elbaf compared to the rest of the world, that wouldn't be helpful to the Straw Hats in any way. It would mean that the rest of the world progressed while they've stayed stagnant. If there is truly going to be a time skip, I'm honestly not sure how Oda will handle it, considering that everyone is on the move. And I don't think that One Piece manga will go on for another 10 years, but who knows.
