Vi and Caitlyn are already adults in the story, both emotionally and physically. The series doesn't portray them as teenagers, but as women who carry deep wounds, who have survived violence and loss, and who have built a real, intimate connection. That's why I think their relationship deserves to be explored more deeply and fearlessly.
What happened between them in Season 2, Episode 8, was beautiful, but many of us felt it was limited by censorship, especially after seeing Josephine Meis's uncensored storyboard, which depicted a much more intimate moment, with their bodies—their breasts and bellies—sensitively exposed. Not as something sexualized, but as a way to express vulnerability, connection, and real love between them.
This isn't something new in cinema. Titanic was rated PG-13 and showed Rose completely naked as a symbol of freedom. Love, Death & Robots and Heavy Metal also dared to show female bodies with artistic honesty. And if we're talking about telling mature stories, Arcane already does it. So why be afraid to fully show the intimacy between Vi and Caitlyn?
I love Arcane and the creators' work. But I think these scenes, shown respectfully and uncensored, would help more people connect with Caitlyn and Vi's story on a deeper, more emotional level. Showing their love not just through glances or silences, but also in their real intimacy, would make them even more human.
We want that spin-off. We want more of them. But we also want the important moments in their story to be shown with the courage the show has already shown in so many other ways.
We want the uncensored extended jail scene of what Josephine Meis has done.
