I totally agree, they absolutely nailed the balance of everything including combat. It’s just so well executed; they truly brought the exact essence of Raiders into game form perfectly. Doing so with a great original story they really works and I genuinely rank TGC third for the series just behind Raiders and Crusade. I hope they don’t bend the knee and try to accommodate people who just wanted an uncharted game. It would ruin what makes this game so special

I don’t think this game works in 3rd person. The combat mechanics are very much designed for first. Even if you get used to it the game would look awful. They’d have to add tons of animations that arnt there currently or it would look super awkward. It’s not as simple as add a third person cam option. It would be a huge endeavor and would likely require different mechanics for each camera which seems way too much. I think they chose to right path. The whole point is feeling like Indy and it makes it standout from uncharted. Also fist fighting is and should be the main combat method and that incredible boxing system would be really weird in 3rd person

I totally agree with this whole article. I really think they nailed the formula and gave us a Indy outing that completes with the original trilogy. I genuinely tank it 3rd in the entire series just behind Raiders and Crusade. It’s just a great Indy story that happens to be a fantastic game too. That said, I have heard some complain there’s not enough guns and action but I completely disagree. The game is so well balanced. Not only is it fun but it’s literally like watching an Indy movie. The right amount of combat, adventure, dialogue/exposition, puzzles, etc it’s uncanny how well they turned the proper OG Indy formula into a game so perfectly. They could ramp up stuff, as sequels do, but I really hope they maintain the balance and don’t turn this into an uncharted game. I love those games but I hold TGC to such a higher regard. It’s a game with depth and perfectly represents the character instead of turning him into a killing machine to help satiate people that have been raised on COD. None of this matters if a sequel isn’t greenlit though so fingers crossed that it sells well on PlayStation. Gamepass assured its sales on pc and Xbox were low. Also game pass is just completely anti-developer so they’ll hold the low sales against them even though their own service is to blame.
Oh and Gina has gotta come back. She’s such a great character and their relationship was handled so well. There’s always gonna be a girl and it would be a travesty just to introduce a new one.
