proper as in returning to a traditional rpg franchise, unlike all the weird design changes origami king implemented, its been so many years I don’t remember if you even had party members, I do however remember the combat was basically a real time puzzle, and wasn’t a proper rpg because there was no xp, gear, leveling up, or party members.

Jake_Fillery Agreed, in OG Oblivion I forgot I was a vampire, used the "wait" function outside for 12 or so hours, and was abruptly interrupted to be informed of my death.

I’m well under the “average FF player age” but all the remakes & real time hack n slash battles disgust me. There’s no thought or strategy anymore…

15 was the worst offender, it had a horrible battle system, your “party” was just a token to see if they test the waters of having useless, allies that you had virtually no control over…

The “magic” was a last second addition that I’m shocked they didn’t make paid dlc for how outstandingly abysmal, tedious, and useless it was.

The only arguably good thing was the story, which was still convoluted, because if you wanted to enjoy it fully you had to watch a show on YouTube, play the story to a certain point, do a dlc, story, dlc, over & over again.
