I think Pattinson’s Batman should remain outside of the DCU. I have a feeling that James Gunn is going for a different feel for Batman within a connected universe and I think that version of Batman should be tailored to existing in the same world as Superman and the other Justice League characters. I think Pattinson’s Batman is amazing - my personal favorite iteration of Batman on screen so far - but if Warner Bros tries to shoehorn this unique take on Batman into a greater cinematic universe when it wasn’t built for that, the DCU will most likely fail, just like the DCEU did when it tried to force a Justice League around Man of Steel, which to me very much felt like an afterthought following a good stand alone Superman flick that was never meant to be connected to a wider universe.
