 expeditions are still thing. Every time you do an expedition, you end up getting better stats overall( more storage space, more skill points, exclusive cosmetics, etc.) That comes with bi-monthly wipes. Expeditions are completely optional though, so if you don't want to do the expeditions, then you could keep your stuff forever. Believe there is also a regular rebirthing too for those who reach level 75 but I don't know much about that
