See AllCobra Kai Cut An Alternate Ending That Almost Gave One Character A Much Different Ending
This show, which started focused on Johnny and was initially a great follow-up to his story, devolved in story, focus, and writing more and more each season to the point that even my 13 and 11 year olds thought it was ludicrous. It jumped the shark over and over again from the point that Johnny opted not to be with now “Dr.” Ali with an I, literally “the girl who got away,” and put all this in motion 40 years ago so he could be with Miguel’s Mom in their bad apartment as the “Coors Banquet” red neck he never was in the original movie. That said, for me and my boys as viewers, being from the San Fernando Valley ourselves, to see that Kreese and Terry Silver were actually in Santa Monica Bay on Silver’s yacht for the finale (where they’d likely be in real life if the characters were real) was refreshing since so much of the production had moved to Georgia over the years. But for anyone who lives here, this is a very public and visible spot in LA County. Despite the famous sign for the Yacht Harbor at the Santa Monica Pier, it’s rare to see yachts there now so it would’ve stood out to anyone on shore or on the pier there. To have it explode would’ve been all over the Los Angeles news stations, so to have no mention of it to Johnny or Daniel afterward made absolutely no sense. Just another example of unrealistic, loose ends that took it out of the realm of reality. The only thing that made it humorous was in this last episode, the show jumped the shark yet again, thankfully for the last time, and ironically right where Fonzie did nearly 50 years ago.
