Frieren is far, far better written than Solo Leveling and has way better characters and story telling than anything Solo Leveling has or ever will do. Don't get me wrong, I think Solo Leveling is pretty awesome, great soundtrack and animation but take it away the animation and nobody would watch it just like Demon Slayer which suffers from the same issue. I love both of those series btw. But Frieren is for people who actually value a good story while Solo Leveling is a "turn your brain off watch cool guy become too overpowered with barely any issues throughout the entire series". Frieren is a much deeper much more thought-out story and definitely deserved anime of the year. Frieren hooks you with its art direction and story within the first episode as well if you actually pay attention. But I get it, not everyone can appreciate or comprehend good storytelling. After all I get it, getting home from work and enjoying an awesome show is a great feeling. I don't think I've ever been more excited for a Friday after work than getting home and watching a new Frieren episode. It makes you think and has a very deep theme. Solo Leveling in most aspects just cannot compare. The facts are there. Frieren will always be a better story.
