kinda sorta. Its pretty similar to other games (especially PC games) where only the liscence in on the disk and you have to download the game.

You can still trade in the game and it still has value as a 2nd hand game since it isa its own license....

There are only 2 problems with it.

You have terrible/no internet - wont be able to download the game at all

you want to preserve the game - maybe play it in 20 years - when nintendo shuts down their switch 2 sever youll never be able to download your game again
