See AllSolo Leveling Is Anime Of The Year, But 1 Show Far Surpasses It In Quality
Solo leveling had great character development and storytelling, and im not gonna say its bad in anyway. I loved it, but there is just one thing that makes Frieren better for me.
I started solo leveling through the Manga and I remember how amazing it was when the first season came out. It was phenomenal.
When the second season came out however, maybe also due to my high expectations, the season didn't really feel as good anymore, and I mean of course in comparison to the manga. During the airing of the second season it slowly felt lacking in qualities which the manga can capture perfectly. Of course, my opinion, but the season just felt rushed when it could have been way better. Off topic, but to me it was also the same for jjk s2 second half, the fights and angles felt way too clustered.
Therefore, the point is that the manga was absolute peak and perfection, but the fact that the anime really didn't bring "better qualities" compared to pages of one frames, just really does it for me.
Frieren, on the other hand, is an artwork on its own, almost seperate entities from the manga. The animation studios really created something of their own and more with their own passion. Where as, in my opinion, the solo leveling anime was just an anime studio trying to milk the manga, copying everything as fast as possible.
