Between the real meat and potatoes ones.
Here's a idea, Alex Kingston is a favorite of mine. I think the way that her character ended was a shame from the get go. As amazing as she is, to be taken our by the shadow creatures was shameful. Giving up her regeneration to save the doctor should have some reward. I think that there also needs to be a reckoning with Time. When Jodie Whittaker's doctor got a reprieve and was sent free, what happened to all of the universe that was destroyed. Only a fraction remained, but the universe doesn't seem to have changed that much.
The one thing that is certain is that there needs to be better stories. The writing.....the script is alright, but the plot and the stories need a whole new dimension of intricacy and texture. After 60 years of writing some may think the carpet is wearing thin, but I don't believe it. Perhaps the doctor could regenerate into an American. I'd love to take on the role. I have no accent being from the NW US, but I've got character and I love the Doctor.

Okay here are fresh thought from the US. Don't hate on me cause I'm from across the pond. I LOVE Dr Who. I've watched since I was 8. It's the best show ever. Why? Because of who the doctor is and what he stands for. More than a hero, which he doesn't set out to be, he is at his core, the best of what we all could hope to be. His awe and intense curiosity for the universe have made him immortal. He travels through time and manages to set things right. His humanity surpasses humans and he inspires us to be better. He can command a room because he knows more than anyone.
One thing is clear though, the thing that makes the show so great is when you have a rich story line with lots of hooks that weave into the tapestry of the shows cannon, a actor or actress who can own the character, new foes or good old ones that add texture to the overall storyline and plots that have arcs across episodes.
Too often we have seen one episode flops that slow a seasons excitement meter down. Episodes that have little to add to the seasons storyline as well. It's good to have some light episodes b
