See AllStar Citizen Flight Blades Are Causing Controversy
Its a live service style of game, the only time it will "release" is when they've added the majority of, if not all of the planetary systems included on the SC galactic map. Its got less to do with your "Printing money" argument, and more to do with the fact they spent most of their time creating a brand new system for the game to properly function, without which it wouldn't EVER get out of early access PERIOD, Considering that, once they got the new system up and running they've made more progress in 2 years than they did in the original 11-13, shows just how important those systems actually were, Also the reason SC didn't progress early on is because they had a perfectionist as their design lead which led to things being repeatedly scrapped and re-run, Instead of paying attention to just the past, pay more attention to the rapid progress thats been made in the present, Focusing too much on one and ignoring the other gives you an extreme level of bias when you make a comment like this. Do i think how long they took is a good thing? No, do i think the progress they're making now makes up for the wait, To a degree yes, you seem to forget that live service games NEED income from things to exist. I don't see you going over and blasting World of Warcraft for existing on literally the same model, whilst also providing less per update than SC is now whilst also providing what in some cases has been literal copy-paste money grab and that game requires you to pay a subscription to play the 'lategame' content, SC is a one and done payment, like a normal game. Rather than forcing players to pay monthly to even exist past a certain point, they've opted for a store of ingame items, near enough all of which WILL be obtainable INGAME once they reach the correct stage of development. When you compare the two 'Live service' games, it really paints a completely different story, WOW also makes more on average than SC does. Activision sits at 7.53 Billion, Cloud sits at 114 Million.
