You are missing something important. It has not actually been that long since Concerned Ape gave us an update on Haunted Chocolatier. The update was that production on it had been paused to finish rolling out the Stardew Valley 1.6 update, which is not finished until console release on November 4th. He is one person, and after this is done he deserves a nice long break before getting back to work. I think it's not only unrealistic to think he's going to give us an update this Halloween, but also selfish. Maybe next year.
