Brazilian Agency Formally Notifies Nintendo Over Console Bricking EULA Clause
I was 4 years old when Nintendo launched the N64, and I was 9 when the GameCube came out several years later. Not only did Nintendo completely revolutionize the world of video games with both of those consoles, but I was just a little kid enjoying fun games with no strings attached. I was also just a kid that did dumb stuff all the time, but I only had to answer to my parents for that. Imaging being 8 years old at the launch of the switch 2- your cousin or friend talks about a way to play a game that your mom won’t buy you but you don’t know what your doing and suddenly the company that makes your days better after school or helps you survive roadtrips just decided that they don’t want you to enjoy the stuff you love anymore. And also your parents are out $500 because Nintendo seems to only care about revenue and are somehow powerful enough to revoke the console you paid them for and ground you from gaming whether you’re 8 or 88. Nintendo is one of the oldest video game pioneers, but I think they’ve officially lived long enough to become the villain. Everything about this latest console launch has made me fall out of love with them- I don’t even pirate games or mod my consoles, but I will not be buying a switch 2 because the EULA is dystopian and evil. And I’m saving so much money because of the blatant price gauging lol
