Wow. You couldn't be more wrong.

Blue Mage.

Now when it comes to the non job games such as the ones mentioned, where Blue Mage is balls out crazy is in the JOB classes of FFV, FFTA, FFTA2 and more recently Strangers of Paradise. And in these scenarios Blue Mage is just insanely powerful once you get their powerful spells such as Malboror Breath, or any of the unique AoE spells. This is without discussing that in FFXI Blue Mage is further even more broken. And in FFXIV to reign in that ridiculous power, it's a limited job.

Red Mage's power tends to remain in similar games seen in FFTA, FFTA2, FFXI, FFXIV, Strangers of Paradise, true strength is not that it can use Black or White, even if only weaker first versions with usually a I, II and III at some games to give power but the real insane power that makes them so awefully broken is their dualcast/double spell that allows them to chain spells until nothing is left. This makes both very powerful mages in those games mentioned.

I don't use the name(represent job) because they don't do them justice and Red Mage doesn't even come up like that when Red Mage, and later Blue Mage, are part of the whole Job System.
