TCG prices are high due to high demand for the product. Plus scalpers aren't helping. My store specifically has been out of stock for a while for TCG. When we do get some in, it's very little. They limit 2 per person to deter scalpers, so everyone has a chance to enjoy the fun of collecting, not selling for profit.
Attempt to Sell PS4 to GameStop Ends in Confusion
I'm a gamestop employee too, I always get people coming in to just try to sell the console and nothing else with it then get made we charge them for the parts missing. Like how are we supposed to test the system? Even if we had just the cords, if the PlayStation doesn't work properly it gets put as defective which also drops the value like crazy. When I pitch to the customers I always reiterate to have them bring everything. Because that's what we need. I had someone try to yell at me over the trade prices for PS4s over the phone bc their "local game store sells PS4s for $190" I simply said if that's what they offer you for a trade then take it. But we are not a "local" game store, we are a corporation. I have no dictatorship over how much we give for a trade, if you have an issue with it, write or call corporate.
